2021 SAG Awards: Nominees, Air Date, and How to Watch

2021 award show season is here. Although it certainly looks different than previous years, Hollywood is still honoring achievements in film and TV. Among the various events is the Screen Actors Guild Awards, or more commonly known as the SAG Awards.

Nominees for the 27th annual SAG Awards were announced on Feb. 4, 2021. Emily in Paris star Lily Collins and Daveed Diggs (Hamilton, Snowpiercer) made the announcement on Instagram Live. Dominating the list of nominees are Aaron Sorkin’s The Trial of the Chicago 7, Spike Lee’s Da 5 Bloods, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Regina King’s One Night in Miami, and Minari. Chadwick Boseman also picked up two posthumous nods for Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and Da 5 Bloods.

The SAG Awards will air on April 4, 2021

Typically airing in January, the SAG Awards were pushed back a few months due to the coronavirus. The 2021 SAG Awards are scheduled for Sunday, April 4, 2021. They will air simultaneously on TNT and TBS beginning at 9 p.m. ET and 6 p.m. PT. Following the initial broadcast will be an encore at 11 p.m. ET and 8 p.m. PT.

As far as the 2021 award show season is concerned, the SAG Awards fall after the Golden Globe Awards (Feb. 28, 2021) and the Grammys (March 14, 2021) but before the Academy Awards (April 25, 2021).

How to watch the 2021 SAG Awards

As previously mentioned, the 2021 SAG Awards will be broadcast on TNT and TBS. But for those who don’t have access to those channels, the award show is typically streamed online via SAGawards.org. Apps such as AppleTV, Youtube TV, Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV, and Roku usually offer it as well.
