Following the premiere of the This Is Us collection finale, creator and author Dan Fogelman spoke with Leisure Weekly. And he disclosed his assumed approach driving Chrissy Metz singing at Rebecca’s funeral.
“Chrissy experienced not been explained to I’d be asking her to sing,” Fogelman explained. “So I was like, ‘Chrissy, can you sing one thing?’ And she’s like, ‘Do you want me to just sing one thing?’ And I’m like, ‘Sing one particular of your tracks from your new album.’ She’s like, ‘I don’t feel it’s acceptable, tonally?’ And I was like, ‘What about ‘Time Just after Time’? That was a track that was part of your character’s origin story with Rebecca.’
