The writer and director behind the motion picture, Dimitri Logothetis, spoke to Showbiz Cheat Sheet about his vision for the series (certainly, there is going to be a sequel) and what it was like to function with Cage on area in Burma.

Anyone who’s seen Jiu Jitsu knows that a bulk of the movie is action sequences. Logothetis claims that that is, exclusively, the emphasis of the movie, even before the acting.
“I just can’t approach a martial arts film devoid of genuine martial artists in it and I assume, potentially, their performing is not up to par with a Nic Cage,” he said. “But I believe the viewers expects to see the authenticity and so you want to have some reliable martial artists to pull that off.”

“Everything that everybody’s executing is actual,” he reported. “Nobody’s flying around on wires. When you see my fellas do a traveling spinning back again kick, they’re really performing it, since they are astounding martial artists.”
Nicolas Cage as Wylie
Logothetis calls Cage the Obi-Wan Kenobi of the motion picture. The Ghost Rider actor performs a “wacky” character named Wylie. He appears about 40 minutes into the film, and when he does, he’s total-blown Cage.
Logothetis says Cage was a “true consummate professional” who was absolutely “committed to the section.”
“He got off the aircraft and straight away fulfilled with me soon after his 20-some-odd-hour flight,” Logothetis explained of Cage’s arrival on set. “He claimed to me, ‘What is it precisely you want me to do, Dimitri, to enable you notify the tale?’ We talked for a few hours… And then suitable soon after he claimed, ‘OK, I want to go function out with the stunt men due to the fact I have acquired a qualifications in jiu-jitsu myself.’ I mentioned, ‘Nic, don’t you want to go clear up, go take a nap? Logothetis feels Cage “brought a whole lot of entertainment value” to Jiu Jitsu.
“I imagine his character is a very little wacky and a small outrageous, which can make him really, pretty entertaining,” explained Logothetis of Cage. “He generally finds a very little quirk and one thing really fascinating in a character.”
