How the singer created ‘They’ve Shut Down the Honky Tonks’
Speaking with Vulture, Lambert discussed that she wrote “They’ve Shut Down the Honky Tonks’ when quarantine started at the begin of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
“I have not recorded it. I just set out an acoustic edition of it. I was writing it in the center of the lockdown. I cleaned off my tour bus. That was the only other time I have ever cleaned off my tour bus aside from now. It was incredibly true. So producing that song, I was wondering of all my mates. It was just a reality I never assumed I would be residing in,” the country singer said.
She ongoing, “It was not about heartbreak from a gentleman or my fiery stuff. It was like, I really do not have a gig any longer. There’s no songs. This is ridiculous. In what entire world would you ever desire that up? I consider it created all of us appreciate what we do so significantly additional, because we all get burnt out and we have been executing it endlessly. I really consider that one particular was a person of the most difficult to produce, mainly because I was feeling each individual line of it as it was going down.”
