George Harrison was normally pretty a blunt man or woman, but he actually didn’t disguise his inner thoughts about a fellow musician, Neil Younger. All musicians are significant about sure points, but George did not delight in Young’s tunes even a little bit. Here’s what George experienced to say about the “Heart of Gold” musician.
George Harrison wasn’t a lover of Neil Young
In a piece of uncommon footage from 1992, George will work in the studio with Dave Stewart, Bob Geldof, and Chucho Merchán. Whilst they function, Geldof asks the ex-Beatle what he thinks of Young’s “Around The Planet.”
George’s response was as brutally truthful as it could get.
According to Considerably Out, George replies, “I’m not a Neil Young lover.” Geldof carries on to say that he thinks Youthful is a very good guitar participant, but George interjects with: “I detest it, yeah I just cannot stand it.”
George then mimics Young playing the guitar and adds: “It’s good for a chortle. We did this display with him, I noticed it from the other side of the phase and seemed about, I seemed at Eric and said, ‘What’s heading on?’ He did the solo in the center, then he variety of seemed at me like – ‘Don’t look at me, it is not me.’”
Continue to, Geldof praises Young by declaring he likes the musician’s 1979 album, Rust Never ever Sleeps. Once more, George offers a blunt reaction. “It’s mostly his voice,” George suggests, “I liked some of his songs but I hated the audio of his voice, his singing is even worse than me.”

John Lennon wasn’t a Younger lover both
George wasn’t the only Beatle to dislike Younger. In a 1980 interview for Playboy (for each Grunge), John Lennon described what he thought of Young’s 1977 music, “Hey, Hey, My, My (Into the Black).”
“I loathe it,” he mentioned. “It’s much better to fade away like an old soldier than to burn off out. If he was chatting about burning out like Sid Vicious, forget it. I do not respect the worship of dead Sid Vicious or of dead James Dean or dead John Wayne. […] No, thank you. I’ll choose the dwelling and the wholesome.”
Younger afterwards explained that the tune talked over the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll and not particular person musicians. However, that harsh criticism must have stung, specifically due to the fact Young was a Beatles enthusiast.

Youthful was a Beatles fan
The Beatles opened the doorway for musicians like Younger. So, of class, he was inspired by them.
In 1975, Young told Rolling Stone (per Significantly Out), “I don’t forget singing Beatles tunes… the 1st track I ever sang in front of folks was ‘It Won’t Be Long’ and then ‘Money (Which is What I Want).’ That was in Calvin High Faculty [Winnipeg] cafeteria. My huge instant.”
Young experienced a couple brushes with The Beatles above the many years. He inducted Paul McCartney into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999, and the two have performed with each other as well. Youthful has even performed with George. They shared the stage at the Dylan 30th anniversary Live performance in 1992.
What ever George and John considered of Youthful, he obviously didn’t consider it to heart that substantially. Young had a lot of other battles to battle.
